Avaya Clients Take Action: Software Support Policy Update
Avaya is updating its software support policy for certain older versions of its Communication Manager, Messaging and Networking products. Avaya has ended its use of a piece of embedded software in the newest versions of these products and will no longer release or distribute any new patches for certain older or discontinued versions of the products. SPS and Avaya are committed to minimizing the impact of this change and resolving any issues that their clients experience in the wake of this change.
SPS suggests that clients who are running previous versions of the products upgrade to current releases and make back-up copies of all software that they have in production, including custom patches and maintenance releases. Should clients elect to continue to run older versions, the full copies of product software will be needed in the case of hardware failure that results in the need for a full restore.
Clients should engage their SPS representative to determine whether their product is affected by this change. SPS can help clients ensure there are no disruptions to their businesses.
